The colors of this yarn inspired me to create something fun and full of texture. Doesn’t it make you think about an alligator?
Size: 37 (19cm x 22,5cm)
Material Yarn: 1 ball of Merino Sock Da Fazenda (100% merino wool). Needle: 2,25mm (circular or dpn) Notions: 1 markers; darning needle for finishing.
Gauge (stockinette st, not blocked) 28sts x 44rows = 4″
Notes * The chart shows the right side only and must be read from right to left, as indicated by the numbers.
* How to make a bobble: in the same stitch, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1. Turn, p5. Turn, ssk, k3tog, psso.
Directions
Cuff Cast on 56 sts.
Taking care not to twist stitches, join to work in the round and make 16 rounds in k2-p2 ribbing.
Leg Work chart 7 times around the leg.
To get a sock similar to the picture, repeat rounds 1-20 two times. (total 40 rounds)
Chart
Each round must be repeated 7 times:

Heel NOTE: in the instep instead of making bobbles, just knit.
Knit the next 28sts accordingly to the chart. Put those sts on hold and work the remaining 28 sts flat as it follows:
rows 1 (RS): k28. Turn. rows 2 (WS): k2, p24, k2. Turn.
Repeat these two rows 14 times. Total 28 rows The heel is turned in short rows:
Setup row (rs): k18, k2tog. Turn. row 1 (ws): sl1pw wyf, p8, p2tog. Turn. row 2 (rs): sl1pw wyb, k8, k2tog tbl. Turn. Repeat these two rows until only 10 central sts. remain.
Gusset and Foot Now we’re going to work in rounds again.
Next right side round: k10 (the central sts), pick up and knit 14 sts at the left side of the heel, follow the chart in the instep stitches, pick up and knit 14 sts at the right side of the heel. Total 66 sts.
Setup round: k up to 2 sts before instep stitches, ssk, place marker, follow chart2, place marker, k2tog, k the sole sts. (2 decreases)
Then,
round 1: k the sole sts and follow the chart2 in the instep stitches. round 2: k up to 2 sts before marker, ssk, sm, follow chart2, sm, k2tog, k the sole sts. (2 decreases)
Repeat these two rounds until you are back to 56 sts. Then, follow the chart in the instep stitches and knit the sole stitches up to 5cm to the desired lenght.
Chart 2 Repeat the yellow part 3 times.
Round 1: (k2, p6) 4 times, k2, p4. Round 2: (k2, p6) 4 times, k2, p4. Round 3: (m1p, k1, ssk, p5) 4 times, m1p, k1, ssk, p3. Round 4: (p1, k2, p5) 4 times, p, k2, p3. Repeat rounds 1-20 up to 2″ (5cm) before the end of the foot.
Toes
Start decreasing for toes.
Setup round: k sole sts up to 3 sts before marker, ssk, k1, sm, k1, k2tog, k22, ssk, k1, place new marker, k1, k2tog, k sole sts. (total 4 decreases: 52sts)
Then,
round 1: k. round 2: k up to 3 sts before marker, ssk, k1, sm, k1, k2tog, k up 3 sts before marker, ssk, k1, sm, k1, k2tog.
Repeat these two rows until you get to 20 sts total.
Finishing Divide the 20 sts on two needles (10 sts in each needle). With a darning needle, graft the stiches.
Weave in ends.
